Counting the days down!!

Everybody is pretty darn excited around here about Disney. Lexy picked out her Disneyworld book to take to show and tell tomorrow and also her Minnie Mouse shirt to wear. I think Nathan is more excited about the plane ride then Disney, because that is all he talks about! Anytime he is outside he looks for planes and listens for them too. Maybe I'll have a future pilot as a son!! I'd love the discounts on travel!! We are leaving Indy around 5 on Sunday and will be back late Friday night. Jason took the week off and plans on doing some stuff around the house while we are gone (i'm sure he'll have some fun too, but not as much as us!!).
Please pray for safe travel and no hurricanes (you never know). I'm taking the laptop with me, so I might try and update while we are there, if not I'll have lots of pictures and stories to share when we get home. Hope everybody enjoys the long weekend!! Liz

Monday!!

Lexy did great at school last week. She rode the bus on Friday and did ok. The bus driver said she cried all the way to school but on the way home she was all smiles. So hopefully today she will happy with both trips. Here's a picture of her on the bus when she got home!!

Sunday we picked up Lexy at Mi Mi's and we played sidewalk chalk and rode the Dora jeep. My Mom has a huge concrete driveway that is perfect for rides, so we just keep it there. Nathan is becoming quite the little driver, Lexy is still kind of scared of it. It goes pretty darn fast.

Then last night we went to their cousin's bday party and the kids had a blast. It completly wore them out, which is a good thing! Nathan and Lexy both practiced their driving skills while they were there!!

So as you can see, we had a great week. I anticpate a busy week of packing suitcases, cleaning house, and school. I'll update before we leave!! The kids are so exicted!!

Preschool

Today is Lexy's first day of school, and she was one excited little girl. No tears or shout outs to me, she was ready to go!! We went yesterday and met her teacher and saw her classroom. Her teacher seems really nice, and there is 9 children in her classroom. I'll update soon with pictures from the bus, we decided to take her today and let her ride the big bus tomorrow.

One more week of freedom!!

Lexy will start school one week from today. WOW!! I'm excited and she is super excited, so hopefully it goes without a hitch. We get to go to her classroom and meet her new teacher next Wednesday, so I'm anxious about doing that. It just seems like "regular" preschool is just so much more organized. I'm still in the dark about a lot of things, and I'm trying to just go with the flow and so far so good. I still have a list of questions to ask the teacher and am also anxious to see who else is in her class. I know it will be a great experience for Lexy and she really does need the time away from home. She loves to be taught new things and I'm sure will just love it!!
Lexy had her oncology appointment this week and all went great. Her counts were awesome and we go back in 8 weeks. She really has adjusted very well to having a new doctor (her Dr from the beginning recently left for Texas). He is quite impressed with her and she seems to think he's pretty darn funny. We stopped on the way home at Stride Rite and she got a new pair of shoes for school. She wanted pink and shiny ones, so that's what she got. Nathan wanted orange, so I settled for a pair that is gray with orange on the inside, and that made him happy too.
Today we went out for breakfast and got our haircuts done. Both of the kids do so well, and sit like little angels all by themselves in the chair. I never dreamed Lexy would handle it so well but I just kept taking her and know she is great. The both look forward to their suckers at the end, imagine that!!
We are taking it pretty easy until school starts now. No plans until Disneyworld in a couple weeks (which is big enough)! They talk about going all the time, and will be so excited when we are actually there. I'm looking forward to it as well, because it'll be my last vacation with only 2 kids. And I thought it was complicated now!!
Well better go, enjoy your day and thanks for checking in on us. Here's some pictures from our new playroom and family room. We have all been enjoying it so much!! Liz

August already, wow!!

Hi everybody! It's hard to believe it's August already, these past few months have flown by! The new baby will be here before we know it!! We are still reeling in the fact it is a girl, we are all very excited!!
Lexy will be starting her preschool on August 21. I still haven't received much information but they assured me it will be in the mail this week. I want to make sure the time slot worked, her teacher's name, school bus info, etc. She still thinks her teacher's name will be Miss Tickle (from last year), so I'd really like to start working on the new teacher's name with her. Lexy is very excited though, and I'm hoping the whole bus thing works out for all of us. It'll be so much easier for me if I can just put her on the bus. Let's keep our fingers crossed!! Lexy also had her eye appointment this week and they were very happy with her vision, and we don't have to go back for another year. They were quite impressed that she could read all the letters they were putting up on the wall for her. At first they were putting objects up for her, and I told the Dr "she knows her ABC's" and sure enough she showed them! I was quite proud!! She'll have her hemoc appointment next week, it has been 8 weeks since we've been there, so I'm ready to have her checked out. Never thought I'd say that one!! Other than that, she has been feeling great and just enjoying life. Her and Nathan have so much fun together, and I just love hearing their conversations when they think I'm not listening, it's too darn cute!!
Nathan is doing great too. He talks up and a storm and runs around like a little animal! He is really into Buzz Lightyear right now, so hopefully we run into him when we go to Disney world! I know will have to ride the ride a few times! I'm going to just keep him at home this year (he's only 2), and next year I'll put him in preschool. I really don't think he is ready to leave Mommy just yet, and I'm not ready to leave him either!! Are we ever ready???? He has been enjoying his big boy bed, but I can't say he's sleeping any better yet. Mommy is though, now that I can spread out! Also, we took him boating this weekend on a lake and he loved it. He can't quit talking about the whale he saw (he he)!!
Well I'd better sign off, we are off to Walmart. I'm not looking forward to it at all, but it has to be done! Thanks for checking in with us! Liz

the picture of Nathan is at Colt's camp last week, and of course you got to love Buzz aka Nathan!! He won't take it off!!
